Discussion:
Deleting duplicate entries in my PC library

Let me ask this again - is there a way to automatically delete duplicate
titles in my library on my pc?

When I first started to build my pc library I filed the songs by
author/album/title but over time I realized that the same song appeared
multiple times on different albums and as a result I started getting lots of
duplicate songs. So, I am looking for an easy way to delete the duplicate
titles. Any guidance will be highly appreciated.

Probably not. And if there is, I don't think EphPod is the program for
it. It's not a PC music library manager, it's a synch system for the
iPod.

What you probably want is a PC media file library. For this, I use MP3
Collector from collectorz.com. There are others.

Unless you're keeping the entire albums on your system as mp3s, filing
by album is an extra step that can, as you realized, lead to
duplications and confusion.

when I go there i get some weird message about a break in:

QUOTED FROM THE SITE:
The WSO Administrators brought all services down On Sunday, January 18th at
approximately 6:00 PM EST. This was done in response to a major security
breach. More data is available in the user announcement and FAQ below. Most
critical systems have been restored at this point.

WSO Shell or email users: You must login within fourteen days to change your
password. Expect new ssh keys on login, and an automated password change.
See the user announcement below for details. Read the FAQ for detailed
instructions on changing your password.

The State of WSO Services

a.. Email - Has been restored.
b.. Listservers - Are now managed by new software. This is an upgrade from
the old system, but expect a few kinks in the first few weeks.
c.. Primary Web Services - Are down and are expected to remain down for
several days.
d.. Organization Web Sites - Have been restored.
e.. Shell Services - Have been restored.
An all-user email was released at 10 PM on Monday with details.

Our F.A.Q. should also help to answer any questions you may have. We are
sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Arg... Yes, my provider (wso.williams.edu) was hacked, and I guess
they're not going to bring up the other websites for some time.

You can still download the files from BUILDERadius in the meantime:

http://www.builderadius.com/ephpod/ephpod275.exe
and
http://www.builderadius.com/ephpod/ephpod276.exe

Hopefully they'll be back up soon.

Ah, yeah. I'm not seeing any ephpod content. All that I can see is a back
page with a Williams Studens Online security advisory stating (among other
things) that web services will be down for several days.
