Hello,

my wife uses ephpod, I've been using itunes for music on the computer (only she has an iPod).

She just connected her ipod while itunes was open and she lost all the data on the ipod. is there any way to reclaim this? the mp3 files are still on our hard drive, but all the labeling that she did (classical music) is gone, and the prospect of redoing it is daunting.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

This has happened to me (twice) when MusicMatch started up whilst
EphPOD was open. For example, by inadvertently requesting an item
to be played.

In fact it may be that the mp3 files are still present, but only
the play lists have been destroyed. It takes an hour to re-create
the play lists (Partly one can do it automatically by generating
a play list per album. One then has to fiddle with three disc
sets for operas an so forth). However, I would be surprised if the
mp3 data files were deleted (unless you did something with
"synchronise", which I avoid at all costs).

It would be nice to be able to make a backup of the play lists,
but I have not found a way to do this.

Try Ephpod's "Rebuild DB from iPod" feature. You may have lost all your
playlists, however.
