Changes since 2.70:

2.74: +Added cool mp4v2 tag library thanks to Dave Mackie and Alix
Marchandise-Franquet and Poikosoft.
Please email me at ***@swig.com for the source code to this great
library and Jukka's dll project
for it.
+Added support for spaces at the beginning of id3 tags
+Added "no duplicate songs in a single playlist" check
+Added "Create Singles" option and corresponding "create singles
on sync" checkbox option
This takes all songs that are in albums with N or fewer songs
under the Album, and files
them all under a single album name of "Singles"
+Added "Album View" to left side. Unclear as to why this was so
requested, but there it is.
+Added "Write DB Info to ID3 Tags" routine that will refresh your
MP3s' ID3 tags from the iTunesDB Info
+Added 5 InitCap features to do nice reformatting (i.e. ROCK ->
Rock and THEY might bE GiAnTs -> They Might Be Giants)
+Allow for putting syncdirs.dat anywhere (stored in registry)
+Added "Randomize Playlist Entries" option
+Added option to delete songs from device when removing
individually from a playlist
+Added option to "Add EphPod to iPod Manager" so EphPod comes up
when you connect your iPod.
+When copying songs from iPod to local drive, no more making the
.1 files if the file already exists
it just won't copy if the file already exists.
+Added %M for "Composer" in the naming convention blocks.
-Fixed bug in "always ask for drive" code that now will actually
always ask for a drive
-FINALLY fixed the "Artist gets overwritten in Unicode by previous
Unicode artist name" bug

2.73: +Added new sorting routines for Playlists (Filename,
Track+Filename, File Date)
-MP4 double-sync floating point bug disappeared...?
-Fixed WAV files bug (now they get sent over again)
-Fixed loss of playlists bug

2.72: +Added .mp4 extension support
-Fixed "losing bookmarks with audible files" bug
-Fixed bug with appending .mp3 again (only applied in obscure
circumstances before)

2.71: +Added support for "Adding Songs" tag info in the directory structure
+Added option to turn on/off id3v1 tag reading, so now you can
force everything into
reading tag info from directory structure, which may be faster
+New Reading Routines
+"Send Playlist(s) to Top" option added
+No longer trimming spaces from either side of id3v2 tags
+Now reading "time header" for mp4 files -- should be the correct time
-Fixed bug in id3v2 tag reading that limited track numbers to 255
or less
-Now Trimming right spaces on copy to folder
-File size sorting fixed to do it by size and not by character
-Fixed "copy to folder" bug that appended .mp3 to everything

download from:

http://www.builderadius.com/ephpod/ephpod274.exe

If no major errors are reported in the next 24-48 hours, I'll post on
the website.

Next 5 things I want to do:

1) New Directory Structure on iPod (this is a brilliant idea, and needs
to happen)
2) SoundCheck
3) Use LAME to Encode Ogg and downsample larger MP3s and auto-convert WAVs
4) Use drop-down lists for Artists, Genres
5) Better compatibility with song ratings and smart playlists

I will try to release at least one more version before Christmas. I
also plan to (a) switch listservers over to non-spam-place, and (b)
update website to be more relevant and easy to navigate.

Of course, even the best laid plans...

I just installed this directly over my existing 2.70 Ephod install and when
I try to start it up I receive App failed to start cos cmp4v2.dll could not
be found.
I'll uninstall and install it properly now then.

Hi Joe --
Post by Joe Masters
1) New Directory Structure on iPod (this is a brilliant idea, and needs
to happen)
I am curious what this is about -- and you going to change the f00-f99
directory structure?

cheers,
-steve

You can check out the full description in bugzilla, but basically,
there's no good reason for the F00-F19, except for pure obfuscation.
Might as well make the iPod's Music directories be off the root of the
iPod itself (or maybe off a subdirectory called "Music") and make lots
of them so that individual file access is faster.

Needed following features;
+InitCap features work great.
+When copying songs from iPod to local drive, no more making the .1
files if the file already exists
it just won't copy if the file already exists.
+ -Fixed bug in "always ask for drive" code that now will actually
always ask for a drive
thus used them immediately and they work great.

Thanks a Million for the hard work.

I for one, am excited about the prospect of a new Directory Structure.
I dropped the f00-f99 some time ago and thus I am syncing manually as per
bugzilla.

I just installed 2.74 and whenever it copies an m4a file over I get a
series of what look like debugging popups. They just have various
numbers in them and the last one says "MD Duration: 273.7357".
Everything seems to copy over fine but it makes it hard to sync since I
need to hit OK on every popup :)

Sorry for the lame song but I picked this one on purpose. Here is an
example of a song that will play fine on my computer but not on my ipod.
Why is the question. Is it because Apple put specific actions in the ipod
OS to determine if a song should not be played (for some reason), or is it
because the tag is messed up in some way that the ipod detects and is not
important to the PC.

Any ideas guys?

When I first dock my iPod it appears as a drive under windows exployer but
then disappears from windows exployer and EPHpod cannot find it -of course.
If I right click on "unplug or eject HS I still see "Apple Computer_Ine.
IPod IEEE SBP2 Device but that is all. How can I keep the iPod visible in
windows exployer to use 2.75?

Also, I need to know how to erase the old EPHpod data base and start fresh.
I did uninstall EPHpod and reinstalled 2.75 but the old database remains.
Any hints please or is there an EPHpod command that does this?

Thank you for all your help.
